Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, better known by his stage name Bad Bunny is officially the newest Marvel hero as he has been cast as ‘El Muerto’, the Spider-Man antihero in an upcoming Sony Pictures film.
The movie which is set to be released in January 2024, has featured Bad Bunny as the first ever Latino actor to headline a live-action Marvel movie.
The rapper expressed his joy to his fans adding that he is excited to bring ‘El Muerto’ to life. “To bring El Muerto to life is just incredible, so exciting. I love wrestling, I grew up watching wrestling and now I’m a wrestler … I think it’s the perfect role for me. It will be epic, I’m sure,” he said.
El Muerto, who in the comics is known as Juan-Carlos Estrada Sanchez, is a wrestler who gains his power from a mask which is handed to him by his ancestry for generations.
El Muerto has battled Peter Parker himself where he almost revealed Spiderman’s true identity before getting stung with a paralyzing poison.
