Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz, is officially the most subscribed to African artiste on YouTube, with a total of over 7 million subscribers.
Diamond, who is popularly known as ‘Simba’, shared the good news on his Instagram account stories where he revealed that he will be celebrating in honor of his milestone.
The 31-year-old is also the most watched artiste on YouTube in Sub-Saharan Africa, with over 2 billion views. He also boasts a large social media following of over 15.2 million followers on Instagram and 1.2 million on Twitter.
He is closely followed behind by Nigerian big boys, Wizkid and Burna Boy, who have garnered 2.53 million and 3.3 million YouTube subscribers.
Ever since breaking into the limelight, Diamond has achieved many milestones, putting bongo music on the map and supporting as well as signing many upcoming artistes.
He has his own record label dabbed ‘Wasafi Classic’, which has since birthed its own TV and radio stations since being launched back in 2014.
