Burna Boy’s fans have expressed their dismay over Burna Boy’s latest performance titled ‘Lagos Loves Damini’ after the event began four hours after it was to start and Burna Boy, who was the main act performed at 3 AM. Burna Boy has however apologized and promised to change the entire Nigerian entertainment industry to ensure such a thing does not happen again.
The concert which went down on New Year’s Day, had many attendees express their frustration on social media as they could not believe that Burna Boy would disappoint his day one fans.
Burna however responded stating that he cannot do this again and that the blame should fall on the event organizers since they failed to meet his audio and production needs.
“I love you but I can’t do this again. The organizational structure and infrastructure is not there for the complexities of my audio and Production needs,” read the statement.
The Love, Damini hitmaker also clarified that he was not late at all and in fact he did show up to the venue on time. According to him, he only performed late due to the audio issues he experienced.
“We pride ourselves in being highly professional especially with our stage craft. There were three options available to me; wait for audio to be fixed and delay the show, come out at 11pm as planned with no sound or call a breach of contract and pull the plug,” he stated.
Burna Boy has however promised not to let that happen again as he is planning on building world class infrastructure in the Nigerian entertainment business. He even called out for interested investors and organizers to reach out to him in order for them to get to work.
