Miami Gardens, where high profile rapper French Montana was shooting a music video on Thursday night, turned into a mass shooting crime scene after multiple shots were fired and reportedly left at least 10 people injured.
French alongside his team and other rappers were outside The Licking restaurant close to a KFC where someone got robbed. According to rapper Ced Mogul, the shooting then moved to The Licking where as many, around 9 people got shot.
“It was like at least 13, 14, 15 gunshots. It was very rapid, it sounded like an assault rifle. I took off running, and I was looking back, but I was like, ‘You know what? Let me just duck first, and then people started asking me, you know, ‘Can you help me?’ When I realized people were asking for help, there was nothing you could do about it when you got shot,” said Ced.
Miami police are still investigating the incident which may take a minute to pin point the gunmen as many fled in different directions in cars and on foot as they ran to safer grounds. They also revealed that four injured people were flown to Jackson Memorial Hospital while others were transported to local hospitals.
“We’re still working. Yeah, there’s multiple shots, there’s multiple cases,” Miami Gardens Police detective Diana Gorguetold WSVN. “We’re still working. We can’t confirm any numbers at this moment, because everything is still fresh, and they’re still investigating.”
According to TMZ, French Montana was not hit as his security team got him out of the scene immediately and safely.
