Comedian and actor James Corden, has announced his 2023 exit from ‘The Late Show’ which airs on CBS network after eight successful years.

The actor has revealed that he will be taking his final bow a year from now after hosting the show since 2015. He spoke on the show and noted that it is the hardest decision he has ever had to make.

“I never saw (the show) as my final destination and I never want this show to overstay its welcome in any way, I always want to love making it and I really think in a year from now that will be a good time to move on and see what else might be out there,” he said.

Corden presented various shows during his time on the show such as Carpool Karaoke where he hosted an array of celebrities such as Prince Harry and Celine Dion where he would drive them around and play music with them.

He also hosted ‘Eat Your Guts or Spill Your Guts’ where he would also host celebrities and have them try an array of rather peculiar dishes.

The British comedian succeeded the show back in 2015 from fellow comedian and actor Craig Ferguson.

CBS president and CEO George Cheeks released a statement where he was grateful for Corden’s time on the show and even revealed that he wishes he could stay longer.

“From Crosswalk the Musical to the legendary Carpool Karaoke, and every unique comedy segment he introduced, James has truly reimagined many elements of the late-nightformat. We wish he could stay longer, but we are very proud he made CBS his American home and that this partnership will extend one more season on The Late Late Show.”
