The Golden State Warriors are a win away from lifting the Larry O’Brien trophy after beating the Boston Celtics on Monday night.

Andrew Wiggins was sensational, scoring 26 points to lead the Warriors to a 104-94 Game 5 win. It would also be their seventh championship all time, which would put the Warriors alone in third all-time and break a tie with Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls.

Stephen Curry contributed 16 points and eight assists but the all-time three-point leader’s NBA-record streak of 132 straight postseason games with at least one triple ended on Monday night, along with his NBA-best run of 233 consecutive games with a three between regular season and playoffs combined.

Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 27 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Marcus Smart had 20 points and three rebounds. Jaylen Brown added 18 points, nine rebounds and four assists.

The Celtics had a tough time finding easy shots against the tenacious Warriors defense. With the win, the Warriors became the first team to win consecutive games in the series, also marking the first time the Celtics have lost consecutive games this postseason.

Armed with a 3-2 series lead, the Warriors will look to close out the series and win their fourth NBA title in the last eight seasons when they visit the Celtics for Game 6 on Thursday.
