Nigerian defense chief chief Christopher Musa warned that it is a “treasonable offence” to fly the flags of foreign countries.

The mere semblance of Russian influence in the country’s affairs was enough to get the security apparatuses take a firm stand and nip in the bud potential Russian torrerlace sentiments.

The surrounding Sahel region is dotted with Russian influence after military coups in Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali as locals turn against the West due to policy mistakes, growing anti-European sentiments, and perennial failures of international and local kingpins to address the root causes of regional economic problems and insecurities.
