Brazil defeated Serbia 2-0 in their opening match of the 2022 Qatar world cup, completing the first round of group stage matches. The first half ended with no goals, with both teams looking to take the lead heading into the second half. Richarlison scored for brazil in the 63rd minute taking a rebound from vinicius junior shot, which had been blocked by Serbia’s goalkeeper.

Brazil kept up the pressure on Serbia culminating a 73rd minute goal from a stunning scissor kick by Richarlison, who doubled the lead with what many are calling an earlycontender for the goal of the tournament.

Brazil National team which has won most World Cups with five, is one of the favourites to win the tournament this year for the first time in 20 years.

Brazil sit on top of Group G on goal difference from Switzerland who they will play in their next game on Monday.

Serbia will have the chance to make amends for tonight as they take on Cameroon and will need to take all three points to have any hope of making the knockout rounds for the first time in their history.
