The Real House Wives of Durban reality TV star Nonku Williams has re-launched her wine brand Ashes to Beauty (A2B) in Johannesburg.
The entrepreneur’s first launch failed after her sommelier unexpectedly dropped her. She then had to go back to the drawing board and plan the launch afresh.
“Nothing just happens in life. This wine brand was visualised and followed through from inception. Nobody knew me, but it wasn’t about that. I visualized having this wine during the most difficult time in my life,” she said.
“Life is a journey. It is filled with hardships and joy which bring us to our ultimate purpose,” she continued.
The mother of three revealed that she wanted the taste of the wine to represent her adding that she was very particular and ensured that there is a balance between the spiciness and the fruitiness of the wines.
Her new sommelier Bodibe Sebolai from Bodibe Wine show ever describes the wines as spicy and says they pair well with hearty meals.
At the launch, Nonku revealed she wanted her wine to tell her life story and especially about her marriage which did not go as planned.
“I believe as the name itself says from Ashes to Beauty, I needed to have the physical experience of the first launch, the ashes of it, because I believe that everything, we go through is intentional and God has a plan.“
“God made me experience what ashes are, and that first launch was a painful moment and now I am experiencing the beauty of it. Had the first launch gone well, I would not be where I am today and people would’ve forgotten about it,” she said.
