With most females rooting for each other in this era of “girl power.” One could not have thought that a woman could backlash her mate.

Tanzanian president Samia Suluhu Hassan has been heavily criticized for describing the country’s female footballers as having a flat chest and being unattractive for marriage.

President Hassan, 61, said these words as Tanzania’s Under-23 men’s football team presented a trophy they won at State House in Dar es Salaam.

She said in as much as some football players are making Tanzania proud by winning trophies, some do not stand a chance of getting married because of their looks .

She added that most of them look like they are men and that for some, a life of marriage is only but a dream.

It is still unclear whether it’s a case of lacking diplomacy in the manner of delivering her speech. However, her latest remarks have been widely condemned with many advocates speaking against her across the country.
It has also caused a frenzy on social media platforms.

Meanwhile, President Hassan asked authorities to ensure athletes are looked after in their retirement as they usually have a tough life after their careers, particularly women.

President Hassan became president in March after the death of the former president, John Magufuli who was widely criticized for many things among them, his decision to ban pregnant girls or mothers, from going to school.
