On Thursday, Black Entertainment Television (BET) announced that actress Taraji P. Henson will host black culture’s biggest award show once again. The show will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on June 26.
Taraji revealed her excitement to be hosting for the second consecutive year adding that she is honored to be working with amazing partners and celebrating the culture.
“I am honored to return as the host of the BET Awards and share the stage with so many powerful and prolific artists; you can even say it is the ’empire’ of Black Excellence,” she said in a statement.
“Working with amazing partners like Scott and Connie at BET and Jesse Collins Entertainment is a creative’s dream,” she added.
“I can’t wait to celebrate Black music, entertainment, and culture with our viewers on what will be one unforgettable night.”
The Oscar nominee signed a deal last September with BET that gave her a string of duties which include hosting. She is also a six-time BET Award winner for best actress in films such as Hidden Figures, Hustle and Flow and hit TV show Empire.
