Lisa Mugo
Nigerian superstar Tems, has made history as the very first Nigerian to be nominated for the prestigious Oscar award, thanks to her pen skills for ‘Lift Me Up’, a song that was featured on Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Tems co-wrote ‘Lift Me’ with global singer Rihanna, music producer Ludwig Göransson, and Black Panther’s director Ryan Coogler.
The track which is sang by Rihanna, is a dedication to the late Chadwick Boseman, who died at the age of 43 after a 4-year long battle with cancer. Boseman played the role of King T’Challa, who was the original black panther.
