Three people were killed and 19 others were injured in an explosion at a busy market in Nigeria’s Taraba state, which is located in the country’s north.
Nigeria is beset by instability, armed gangs and an Islamist insurgency attacking communities in the country’s northern regions.
According to Usman Abdullahi, a Taraba police official, the bomb in the remote Iware town occurred on Tuesday at a drinking place in a portion of a popular market, killing three people and injuring more than a dozen others.
“It’s thought to have been caused by a detonated improvised explosive device. Investigations are still underway “Abdullahi told journalists.
There has been no claim of responsibility for the incident.
