Tom Brady is retiring from the National Football League (NFL) after 22 seasons. He officially announced his retirement on Tuesday via his social media accounts ending days of speculation about his future.
Bradly’s last game in the NFL was NFC divisional round defeat to Los Angeles Rams in the play -offs. He was the seventh quarterback taken in the draft but will go down as the greatest quarter back the sport has ever seen.
“I have always believed the sport of football is an ‘all-in’ proposition — if a 100% competitive commitment isn’t there, you won’t succeed, and success is what I love so much about our game,” Brady said in his Instagram post.

He added: “This is difficult for me to write, but here it goes: I am not going to make that competitive commitment anymore. I have loved my NFL career, and now it is time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention.”

Widely considered the greatest American football player of all Tim, Brady won six super bowls in 20 seasons with New England Patriots and a seventh Super Bowl in two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He had a desire to spend more time with his wife Gisele Budchen and his three children. He also wants to have time on his businesses.
The Brady era is over now and for the first time since 2000, the NFL will start a season in September without Brady’s presence looming over it.
The reason you can’t imagine football without Brady is because it doesn’t exist. Tomorrow starts something different, a world in which Brady can make no more changes to football as a player. The changes he has already made will last for a lifetime.
