Miami rapper Katrina ‘Trina’ Taylor was honored on Saturday with her very own ‘Trina Day’. She also received the keys to the city.
May 14th, is now officially Trina’s day, the rapper revealed that she went through a mixture of emotions from shock to excitement but nonetheless she revealed that she is very proud of herself. The rapper is planning on giving a helping hand within her community to help people grow.
“I’m just excited to be in this space, and to see how far I can help the community and my city grow. It means everything to me.”
The Queen of Miami was honored at her hometown in Liberty City. The celebration was filled with food, drinks, live music and games.
The mayor of Miami, Francis Suarez, presented Trina with the keys to the city who revealed that he presented it to her due to the impact she has on Miami.
“On behalf of the City of Miami, it’s my honor and privilege to present you the keys to the City of Miami. Cause I know how much your momma meant to you … I have a little plaque for you in loving memory of your mother.”
“These are the memories you don’t forget and you’re never going to forget her and what she meant to you and what you mean to us. So, it wouldn’t be proper to recognize you without recognizing her,” he said as he presented her with a plaque.
