With his win in Pennsylvania, Donald Trump stands just three electoral votes away from securing the U.S. presidency. Early Wednesday, November 6, Trump addressed supporters at the Republican convention center in West Palm Beach, Florida, celebrating his campaign’s strength and momentum.

“I want to thank you all very much, we have thousands of friends in this incredible movement. This is a movement like nobody has ever seen before and this is frankly I believe the greatest political movement of all time,” Trump said. He described his campaign as unprecedented and historic, emphasizing that the American people had made their voices heard in a powerful way.

“We have a country that needs help, needs help very badly,” he continued. “We’re going to fix our borders, we’re going to fix everything. We made history for a reason tonight, and the reason is going to be just that. We overcame obstacle that nobody thought possible, and it is out clear that we’ve achieved the most incredible political thing.”

The Republican candidate then thanked Americans for entrusting him with the presidency. “I wanna thank the American people for the extraordinary honor of being elected your 47th president and 45th president,” he said. Trump promised to work tirelessly for Americans, saying, “Every citizen; I will fight for you, for your family and your future. Every single day I will fight for you with every breath in my body. I will not rest until we have delivered the strong safe and prosperous America that our children deserve and that you deserve.”

He closed his remarks with a promise of a bright future, calling his victory a gateway to “the golden age of America.”

As Trump celebrated his near-win, the atmosphere in Washington, D.C., where Democratic supporters had gathered, was starkly different. As they waited for news, a top aide to their candidate eventually announced that the candidate would not be addressing them that evening.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press held off on calling the race, awaiting late vote updates from Michigan’s Wayne County and Wisconsin’s Milwaukee County. Both areas are Democratic strongholds that could be decisive, keeping a narrow path open for the Democrats. However, with Trump’s substantial lead and critical wins, his campaign is now within reach of a victory.
