Atlanta rapper Jeffrey ‘Young Thug’ Williams was arrested on Monday for conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) charges while his fellow rapper Gunna faces the same charges along with 26 other ‘Young Slime Life’ (YSL) gang related members.
Thug’s home was raided by the police on Monday where they put the rapper in handcuffs and have detained him at Fulton County Jail. The 30-year-old rapper has also been charged with participation in criminal street gang activity.
Thug is also being accused of renting a car that was used in the in the 2015 murder of 26-year-old Donovan Thomas. The drive-by shooting saw two other people wounded.
Two of the YSL gang members, Christian Eppinger and Antonio Sumlin who are currently serving time in prison, allegedly called Thug to ask for permission to murder rapper YFN Lucci who is also serving time in Fulton County Jail. Lucci was allegedly stabbed in February this year while in jail over beef that he has with Young Thug.
According to WSBTV reporter Michael Seiden who broke the news, YSL is a gang that was started back in 2012 by Young Thug, Murphy AKA “DK,” and Trontavious Stephens AKA “Tick”. The gang claims affiliation with the popular ‘Bloods’ gang.
On the other hand, Gunna has been charged with one account of participation in criminal street gang activity. He was also spotted wearing a ‘YSL’ and ‘Slatt’ pendant in the ‘Fox 5’ video that circulated on social media.
