Video subscription streaming service Disney + is set to make it long awaited debut in Africa and specifically in South Africa.

Disney released a statement revealing they are launching on May 18 and not only in South Africa, but also in Turkey, Poland, Hungary, Israel and the Middle East. The subscription will cost $8.10 per month and $81 annually. 

“Users will have access to high-quality viewing, up to four concurrent streams, unlimited downloads on up to 10 devices, Imax Enhanced for selected titles (where available) and the ability to set up to seven different profiles, including the ability for parents to set Kids Profiles that have an easy-to-navigate child-friendly interface to access age-appropriate content,” read the statement.

The service will include exclusive content not only from Disney but also from Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, National Geographic and Star.

Shows that have already been confirmed at launch include: The Kardashians, The Simpsons, Cruella, Encanto, Luca, Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings, The Mandalorian, Moonlight and the Book of Boba Fett.
