Following the unfortunate incident that happened at Travis Scott’s Astroworld festival, the rapper has taken the initiative to launch a new project dubbed ‘Heal’ that will make events a safe space for all attendees.

Travis who took to his Instagram to reveal what he has been working on stated that he has been taking time over the past few months to grieve, reflect and to heal his community. This he may be alluding to the incident at the Astroworld festival which saw 10 people lose their lives.

The 30-year-old rapper revealed that the events that took place at the festival will forever live with him and so he is using his resources and his platform to create change that will be a lifelong journey for him and his family.

Project heal is described as a ‘multi-tier initiative dedicated to addressing challenges facing today’s youth, especially the ones from marginalized and at-risk communities.’

“While it’s easy for corporations and institutions to stay in the shadows, I feel as a leader in my community, I need to step up in times of need. My team and I created Project HEAL to take much needed action towards supporting real solutions that make all events the safest spaces they can possibly be,” read the caption.

His new initiative which has partnered with the Cactus Jack Foundation, will focus on four pillars; academic scholarships, free mental health resources, a creative design and a Tech-Driven Solution for event safety.

Travis’ new move has come shortly after he was deemed as having no remorse and lacking empathy for the families of the people who died at his Astroworld festival after liking a post by Kanye West.

Kanye had posted a news headline of Billie Eilish who stopped her concert to help an attendee who seemingly had breathing problems. She let everybody know on stage that she will not continue the show until her fan gets the help that they needed.

Her move rubbed on Kanye the wrong way as he took it to heart and stepped up to defend his friend Travis stating that he did not want the events at Astroworld to take place and that he feels bad for what happened. He also demanded that Billie apologizes to Travis for her comments.

“COME ON BILLIE WE LOVE YOU PLEASE APOLOGIZE TO TRAV AND TO THE FAMILIES OF THE PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES NO ONE INTENDED THIS TO HAPPEN. TRAV DIDN’T HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING WHEN HE WAS ON STAGE AND WAS VERY HURT BY WHAT HAPPENED AND YES TRAV WILL BE WITH ME AT COACHELLA BUT NOW I NEED BILLIE TO APOLOGIZE BEFORE I PERFORM,” read Kanye’s post.
