Rapper A$ap Rocky has been charged with possession of a weapon and two counts of assault over a shooting that took place in Hollywood.
Rihanna’s baby father who is set to appear in court on Wednesday, is being accused of firing the weapon twice, in the direction of the victim and could face up to nine years in prison.
According to Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón, firing a gun in a public area is a serious offense that can potentially put a lot of innocent people in danger.
“Discharging a gun in a public place is a serious offence that could have ended with tragic consequences, not only for the person targeted but also for innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood. My office conducted a thorough review of the evidence in this case and determined that the addition of a special firearm allegation was warranted,” he said.
Rocky was first arrested in connection with the shooting earlier on in the year immediately he hopped off of a private jet with his billionaire girlfriend, Rihanna.
The police also ransacked his home with an arrest warrant where they found multiple weapons. The rapper was released three hours later after he posted bail of $550,000.
A$ap Relli, who hails from Rocky’s famous hip hop group A$apMob, identified himself as the victim of the shooting. He sued Rocky last week for assault and battery, negligence and emotional distress.
