Famed South African rapper Constantinos Tsobanoglou, better known as Costa Titch, died suddenly while he was performing on stage at Ultra Music Festival in Johannesburg.
A video depicting his final moments alive shows the rapper collapsing mid performance. He is immediately helped up by his team before he collapses yet again.
His family has since then confirmed the tragic news in an Instagram post stating that they are thankful for the emergency responders who immediately took action and helped him.
“It is with deep pain that we find ourselves having to acknowledge his passing at this time,” read the Instagram post. “As a family we are faced with a difficult time as we try to make sense of what has befallen us and ask that we be afforded the time and space to gather ourselves.”
The ‘Big Flexa’ rapper’s death comes exactly a month after South Africa lost yet another great rapper, AKA who was shot dead outside of a restaurant.
“The Tsobanoglou family thanks you for the love and support you have given to our son and may you continue to uplift him even in spirit. Please keep us in your prayers and uplifted in the Lord,” read the statement.
The star rose to fame thanks to his hit song ‘Big Flexa,’ featuring C’buda M, Alfa Kat, Banaba Des, Sdida and Man T. The song which was released over a year ago, has garnered over 45 million views on YouTube.
