On Tuesday, Beyonce Knowles Carter scored her very first Oscar nomination for her song ‘Be Alive’ which features in the film King Richard.

In 2021, Beyonce broke the record for the female with the greatest number of Grammy awards and is now unlocking new levels as she is running to get the highest accolade in film.

The film is a depiction of tennis players Venus and Serena Williams together with their father King Richard, and his journey towards turning his daughters into the successful tennis players they are today.

The song was written by Queen Bey and Dixon and is featured at the end of the film with the movie credits alongside home footage of the actual Williams’ family.

Beyonce has been nominated against Billie Eilish, Von Morrison, Diane Warren, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Fineas for the Best Original Song Oscar category.
