With the FIFA World Cup 2022 just over a month away, Qatar is all set to stage an exceptional edition of the historic football showpiece on and off the field.

Ticket sales for the FIFA World Cup are surpassing three million ahead of the tournament’s start on November 20.

Out of the tickets sold, the highest countries to have purchased the most were United States of America, Saudi Arabia, England, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Argentina, France, Brazil and Germany.

Around 1.2 million international guests are expected in Qatar for the 29-day tournament, with more accommodations still being added to avoid a hotel shortage in the tiny emirate.

According to Qatari officials, fans have already purchased 2 million distinct room nights in hotels, residences, cruise ships, and even camping grounds, and a further 30,000 rooms have been added to the capacity.

The hire of a third, 1,075-cabin cruise ship to dock in Doha port as a floating hotel expanded capacity last week. Prices began at $470 per night during the first two weeks, when all 32 teams are still competing.

Only 20,000 of the 420,000 people who sought to be tournament volunteers in Qatar were picked. A total of 11%, or approximately 2,200 people, will arrive from outside Qatar, with the other 89% being Qataris.
