Tanzanian singer Harmonize, is planning on taking Diamond Platnumz’s record label Wasafi Records to court over royalty claims.
Taking to his Instagram, Harmonize revealed that he has not received his royalties for the last 3 years ever since leaving Wasafi. This is despite the fact that he paid over $190,000 in order for him to terminate his 10-year contract with Wasafi.
“Wasafi and Mziiki have partnered to mess with me yet I have done them no wrong. It’s been a tussle to get what is rightfully mine from them so that I can feed my family just like they are doing with their families.”
“Why would they deny me access to my Intellectual property rights (IP) and while at it they continue to collect money from my IPs on my behalf ?” he asked.
Harmonize, also known as Konde Boy, further revealed that the record label owed him hundreds of thousands of dollars and is now seeking help from the newly appointed Culture and Arts Assistant minister, rapper Mwana FA.
“I am counting on him to help me because I have been unable to collect my publishing royalties for three years,” he added.
The ‘Single Again’ singer parted ways with Wasafi Records, terminating his contract after only four years. He ,however, claimed that the label would constantly exploit him, hence the reason why he left.
