Mohamed Salah scored for the first time in the tournament since Boxing Day, and January signing Cody Gakpo scored his first goal for the club in the Anfield victory.
The win gives a well-needed reprieve to the former champions ahead of their massive champions league game against Real Madrid next week Thursday.
Domestically, it also pushes them up the premiership table as they skip Chelsea for ninth place on 32 points with a game in hand.

They will have a chance to climb further up the standings when they face Newcastle on Thursday. This season has been quite the come down for a Liverpool team that challenged for an unprecedented quadruple last year.

There have, however, been mitigating circumstances, with Klopp having to cope with injuries to key players, while also learning to live without forward Sadio Mane, who left for Bayern Munich last summer.
