YouTube’s most popular person, Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, is sponsoring cataract removal eye surgery for 1000 people, in order to help them see better.
The 24-year-old posted the video on Saturday where he revealed that he has been helping people who are unable to afford the procedure around the world in Kenya, Namibia, Mexico, Brazil, Indonesia, Honduras, Jamaica, Vietnam and USA.
The YouTube megastar also gave away large sums of cash, from $10,000 to $50,000 to a number of people. He also donated $100,000 to the hospital in order for them to help other people.
In the 8-minute-long video, Donaldson shows the patients taking off their bandages after the 10-minute-long surgeries, detailing their experiences getting to see for the first time after battling clouded vision for a while.
“I just haven’t been me for the last 62 years,” one patient tells MrBeast in the video, “I can actually see your face.”
Beast not only gave the patients the gift of a clear vision, he also made a few of their dreams come true as one of them revealed that he had not been able to work any longer and now he would be able to get back to work. Another revealed that he would love to drive a car for the very first time and Beast even gifted him a brand new Tesla.
According to Beast, the surgery entails making a small incision in the eye, and using a small vacuum to suck up the eye’s clouded cataract lens, and then inserts a new artificial lens.
MrBeast, is YouTube’s most subscribed channel with over 130 million subscribers. His videos entail him getting a group of people to partake in challenges in order for them to win a large sum of money.
