Musical song bird Rihanna, is set to hit the stage once again, as she will perform ‘Lift Me Up’ at the 2023 Oscars on March 12.
The singer who performed at the Superbowl recently, will be performing ‘Lift Me Up,’ a song from Marvel’s ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.’
Rihanna who announced that she is expecting her second child with boyfriend ASAP Rocky, will be performing live for the second time after a seven-year hiatus.
The song is co-written by Rihanna, Tems, Ryan Coogler and Ludwig Goransson and is a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, who plays the role of King T’Challa. Boseman died in 2020 after a four year long private battle with cancer.
‘Lift Me Up’ has been nominated for Best Original Song, marking Rihanna first ever Oscar nomination. ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,’ on the other hand has been nominated for five Oscars this year including Best Original Song, Best Costume Design, Make-up & Hairstyling, Best Supporting Actress and Best Visual Effects.
