SALAH AND TOTTENHAM’S SON SHARE PREMIER LEAGUE GOLDEN BOOT AWARD

Son Heung-min and Mohamed Salah shared the Premier League Golden Boot award after the respective Tottenham and Liverpool stars finished on 23 goals each. Son and Salah averaged 0.66 goals a game, while this is just the fifth time in Premier League history that the award has been split between multiple people.

Son started the day a goal behind Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah in the race to win the golden boot award, but netted twice in the space of five minutes to reach 23 Premier League goals and become the first Asian player to win the golden boot award.

Salah has now won the Golden Boot on three occasions – only Thierry Henry has won more, while he is tied with Harry Kane and Alan Shearer. The Egypt forward also scooped the Playmaker of the Season award, having assisted a league-high 13 goals.

Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo finished third with 18 goals in his first season back in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s Alisson Becker shared the Golden Glove award for most clean sheets with Manchester Citys Ederson. Both the Brazilians secured 20 clean sheets in the Premier League this season.This was Ederson’s thirdconsecutive Golden Glove award.
