South Africa’s musical sensation Makhadzi has set her new year goals and one of them is ensuring that she is on Beyonce alias Queen Bey’s level.

The 25-year-old singer spoke to SMag and shared the importance of evolving as an artist. She also pointed out that she does not regard herself as a superstar just yet.

The singer who is also known as the Queen of Limpopo Dance wants her success to go far beyond her home country South Africa and reach international levels.

“The day I am as big as Beyoncé, then people can say I am a superstar. So, for now, I don’t think I am there yet. I need to keep working hard until I dominate international stages and airwaves,” said Makhadzi.

Not only is the ‘Ghanama’ singer planning on evolving her sound. She is also planning on hopping on a few trendy genres seeing as her latest amapiano tracks have garnered a lot of love from her fans which has given her motivation to keep the amapiano train going.

Salungano has crossed our borders and is receiving so much love in parts of Africa. This is why I’m working on new music with Kabza but it doesn’t mean I am changing my genre or jumping ship to amapiano. I am merely showing people how versatile I am as an artist,” she adds.
