Tanzanian musician Rajab Abdul Kahali alias Harmonize has been arrested and detained in Nairobi’s Kileleshwa police station for failing to show up for performances and appearances.

The bongo superstar had allegedly been paid $25,825 for several performances in Kenya by the organizers and an unidentified politician but failed to honor his end of the deal.

The arrest came just moments after he had performed at the KICC. However, Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi who was by his side defended Harmonize stating that he was only paid for club appearances and not performances.

He added that Harmonize did show up at the clubs and was not obliged to perform despite his fans urging him to do so. Eric revealed that he actually did sing a few songs out of his own will before leaving some club.

“The artist is supposed to just chill, he is not supposed to perform. Harmonize was coming to perform at KICC, Kenyans should understand. You can even pay 1 million, you know what a club appearance is…it happens worldwide,” said Eric.
