Tanzanian singer Zena Yusuf Mohammed aka Shilole has partnered with Glady Farewell and together, they have gifted three elderly widows a fully furnished house.
Glady Farewell, a local charity organization, managed to raise funds to help the women who were residing in mud houses. One of the elderly women is blind and, in a wheelchair, and for that reason, incapable, of taking care of herself. The heart-warming gift has put smiles on the elderly women’s faces. They have expressed their joy and gratitude.
Words can’t express how grateful I am. May God bless you for your kindness. I would just like to ask for additional support like food and a job so that we may get to live a happy life inside this new home,” she said.
The musician also thanked Glady Farewell for their support and for their selfless act saying it is good when the youth take care of elderly people.
She also expressed that she was touched by the widow’s stories and that she wanted to help them immediately since she understands that things can get hard for women after they lose their husbands.
“I was touched when I saw the widows. They actually deserve this and I hope this will change their lives. I would also like to thank Glady Welfare because this would not be possible without their support, “ Shilole said.
Concluding, “Lastly, I will still give my contributions through the foundation so that these widows can live a happy life.”
The three women were joined by other women who went to witness them being gifted their house. Shilole gave each one of them a sum of money after closing her speech.
