Nigeria’s musical sensation Temilade Openiyi ‘Tems’ has officially made history as the first Nigerian artiste to debut at number 1 at the Billboard hot 100 list.

The 26-year-old beau has made her second entry on the Billboard list for featuring in Future’s hit song ‘Wait For U’ alongside Drake. Her first debut was with Wizkid on the masterpiece ‘Essence’ that debuted at number 9 in October 2021.

According to Luminate via Billboard, ‘Wait For U’ has been streamed over 40 million times, with 7.9 million radio airplay audience impressions and 6,400 downloads.

The song is also the 137th song to debut at number 1 in the Hot 100’s 63-year history.

‘Wait For U’ appears in Future’s ‘I Never Liked You’ album and is Future’s second number one hit. On the other hand, this is Drake’s tenth time topping the Hot 100 list.
