1997 hit movie ‘Titanic,’ has officially surpassed ‘Avatar: The Way of Water,’ becoming the third highest grossing film of all time.
‘Titanic,’ which has just been re-released in 4K in honor of its 25th year anniversary has pulled in seriously large sums of money totaling up to $2.217 billion while ‘Avatar’ made $2.213 billion. However, it is projected that ‘Avatar’ will return back to third place in the coming weeks.

Canadian film maker, James Cameron, has been crowned the king of film making seeing as both movies were directed and produced by him.

Over the weekend, ‘Titanic’ made $6.4 million in the United States alone and $15.9 million internationally at the box office. The numbers are exceptionally big especially since the film is over two decades old and is readily available to viewers at home. ‘Titanic,’ is a romance film based on a true story of a ship that hit an iceberg and sunk in 1912. The Titanic, was deemed to be the most luxurious ship at the time and many believed that it was unsinkable.
