Country music singer Toby Keith shocked his fans on Sunday after he revealed that he has been battling stomach cancer for the last six months.
The ‘As Good As I Once Was’ singer shared the devastating news via his Twitter account. He also quickly let his fans know that he is doing alright.
“Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. I’ve spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation, and surgery. So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover and relax. I am looking forward to spending this time with my family, but I will see the fans sooner than later. I can’t wait,” read the post.
Fans have since taken to the comment section to send their love and prayers his way. Others even shared how Toby has been an inspiration to him and encouraged him to keep pushing, confident that he will recover from this.
Toby’s diagnosis comes as a shock to many as the 60-year-old singer is scheduled to perform in Illinois and Michigan on June 17 and 18.
