Will Smith smacked Chris Rock right in the face, a few moments after the actor and comedian made a distasteful joke about Jada Smith’s shaved head.
The comedian who was on stage presenting for the ‘Best Documentary’ award did what he always does, makes jokes about everything. He then called Jada Pinkette ‘G.I Jane 2’ adding that he cannot wait to see the movie.

“Jada I love you, ‘G.I. Jane 2,’ can’t wait to see it,” said Rock.
Jada who was diagnosed with alopecia back in 2018, did not find the joke funny as she rolled her eyes. Immediately, Smith rose from his seat and walked towards Rock who seemed to be pleased with him only for him to receive an unexpected smack in the face.
Will walked back to his table and made it clear to Rock twice that he should never speak about his wife again.
“Keep my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth!” Smith said.
So far, it seems like many are on Will’s side as Denzel Washington and Tyler Perry were spotted comforting Smith immediately the show went on break.
Rock however bounced back from the heated moment and once again tried making everyone laugh by calling it the ‘greatest’ moment in television. He then went ahead to present the award.

Will later on won his first Oscar Award for best actor when he tearfully apologized to the Academy and his fellow nominees for the incident and added that he hopes the Academy welcomes him back.

“I know to do what we do, you gotta be able to take abuse and have people talk about you. In this business, you gotta have people disrespecting you. And you gotta smile and pretend that’s ok,” he said.
