A team of young Zambian 🇿🇲 athletes have become the Equestrian Champions after minting Gold In a six days tournament hosted by Algeria 🇩🇿.

The Southern African under – 14 team mint gold 🥇after defeating 6 other nations in an inaugural competition with Libya 🇱🇾 winning Silver🥈Algeria – the hosts getting Bronze🥉at the Africa Confederation for Equestrian Sport ( A.F.E.S) Africa Youth Championships.

The Children’s Team comprised of Lauren Cumings, Musenge Chungu, Cerys Lillie and Hadassah Shamambo while the Junior team has Hillary Maluba, Megan Lillie, Jade Phiri and Notulu Mwenda

Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema spared no time to congratulate the young lads on there incredible performance as he took to social media re-echoing his vision to see young Zambians persuing excellency in all they do, including sports, education or business. 

“Congratulations ‘Team Zambia’ for your remarkable performance at the just ended African Confederation of Equestrian Sports that took place in Algeria. It is not everyday that we associate this epic sports image with Zambia, but we are sure this is the beginning of good things to come.”
