WIZKID BECOMES LONGEST CHARTING AFRICAN ARTISTE ON BILLBOARD

Ayodeji ‘Wizkid’ Balogan, has broken his own record as Billboard has announced him as the longest charting African artiste on their famous chart.

Star Boy’s hit song ‘Essence’ that feature’s fellow Billboard topping artiste Tems, is the longest running African song on Billboard.

Released back in October 2020, ‘Essence’ features in Wizkid’s last album Made In Lagos which is also the hit maker’s longest charting album on the Billboard list and the longest charting African album.

Made in Lagos, received a Grammy nomination at the beginning of 2022 for the ‘Best Global Music Album’ and became the very first African album to debut on Spotify Global Album chart and came in on the top 10 list.

Wizkid is preparing to drop his next album, ‘More Love Less Ego’ on 5th August. He revealed that it will feature artistes such as Ayra Starr, Naira Marley, Ty Dolla $ign, Flame, Skepta and BNXN fka Buju.
