Instagram now allows you to pin up to three posts or reels to the top of your profile, just like TikTok and Twitter.
Simply select the post or reel you want to pin, then hit three dots in the top right corner of the post. If you choose to pin your profile, your post will appear with a pin icon in the top left corner of your grid.
Since at least the beginning of this year, pinned posts have been in the works. Alessandro Paluzzi, a reverse engineer, first noticed the feature in January, and Instagram formally confirmed a test in April.
While many users already use story highlights to highlight different types of material (they appear as bubble-shaped thumbnails below your profile photo and follower count), pinned posts could help producers ensure that certain articles are seen.
