The 94th Academy Award show was just concluded and as usual, it was packed with entertainment, celebrities, fashion and of course drama. Here are the highlights of the night.
The show was hosted by three of Hollywood’s biggest actresses namely Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes who gave the audience nothing short of a good time.
Beyonce curtain raised the show with an outdoor, sultry performance of ‘Be Alive’, a song featured on the King James film that was nominated for an award. The queen gave the audience nothing short of a beautiful performance.
Her daughter Blu Ivy Carter stole the show as she danced her way into the performance. We have no doubt that Bey is grooming her to take over the throne. The remarkable sight marked Beyonce’s first award show performance in five years.
Will Smith slapped Chris Rock who made a joke about his wife, Jayda Smith’s shaved hair. Jada did not take it lightly and Will, who was laughing at the time seemed to have a change of heart as he slapped Chris and urged him not to talk about his wife.
The incident left everyone at the show surprised and our African beau Lupita Nyong’o has turned into a sensational meme depicting what we all felt.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs later on took the stage to spread some love urging Chris and Will to settle the dispute like family later on at Jay-Z’s after party.
Will won his very first Oscar Award and his acceptance speech was a teary one as the actor apologized for his actions and blamed it on love.
