Sauti Sol group member Bien Barasa recently opened up on Jalango TV as to why he thinks Kenyan artists are not doing well on Kenyan soil and addressed the Sauti Sol break up rumor.

Bien shut down the break up rumours stating that they have taken a step back to allow each group member to show their true selves through their music hence why they are all doing solo projects.

He promised that they would reconvene as Sauti Sol and continue to make hits. “All the singles are on Sauti Sol’s YouTube, even our single,” said Bien “change is uncomfortable, I know you wanna see Chimano and Bien singing together, I love singing with Chimano, those are my n****s,” he added.

With artists flocking to visit and perform in Kenya, a conversation has been going round on social media after Comedian Eric Omondi said that the Kenyan music industry is dead and that Kenyan artists are not creative.

“Eric Omondi has no authority to speak on Kenyan art, why? Because Eric has never built enterprise in Kenyan art,” said Bien he further added that Eric does ghost projects, makes a lot of noise hence why he is still relevant but his words lack substance. “He should not be kicking down or putting down Kenyan artists,” he added.

According to Bien, it is not the artists who are the problem, it is the people who need to fix their art.

He claims that artists sing mediocre songs which Kenyans enjoy but after a while they complain that the artists lack quality content.

Bien who prides himself in being a bald man recently released his new solo album called ‘Bald Men Love Better.’
