A 23-year-old man identified as Isaiah Lee has been arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) after he attacked Dave Chappelle on stage during his Netflix performance in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl arena.
Lee jumped on stage with a gun which was later on discovered to be a replica containing a knife blade inside.
The attack happened right when Dave was joking about needing security during the Netflix is a Joke Festival. Fortunately for Chappelle, he was not injured during the attack and managed to continue with his set.
Lee was immediately attacked by security guards who broke his arm amidst the fight. The police have revealed that they are unaware of how he managed to get in with a knife in the venue.
The show was a phone free zone and all attendees were required to keep their phones in a pouch which left many wondering how Netflix was able to control the crowd and maintain their no phone rule but missed a man with a weapon.
Lee was then transported to the hospital in an ambulance for treatment then held in police custody. His bail has been set at $30,000.
