In his 28th nationwide COVID-19 address, the president added that he made the decision after reviewing the raft of measures put in place to help win the fight against the virus, against the backdrop of rapidly declining infections and the relative success of the vaccination campaign by the Ghana Health Service.

Fully vaccinated visitors to Ghana will neither be required to take any tests before departing for the West African country nor will they be required to take any tests upon arrival. Those who are not fully vaccinated, whether citizens or foreigners, must still provide a negative PCR test within 48 hours of arrival and will be subjected to an antigen test.

The country was hit by four waves of the outbreak, with 160,932 people testing positive and 1,445 deaths.
