Nigerian influencer, Hushpuppi, better known as Ramon Abbas’s account has been removed from Instagram ahead of his court hearing to be held on Monday in California.

Hashpuppi who is also known to be an international fraudster was arrested in 2020 in Dubai on charges of hacking, impersonation, scamming, banking fraud, and identity theft. He was thereafter extradited to the US for prosecution.

Instagram has revealed that they took down his account simply because he broke the community guidelines and rules.

Ramon’s Instagram account was filled with images and videos of his luxurious lifestyle from high end cars to lavish vacations. His account, which had over 2.8 million followers, has now been taken down by the Instagram team.

When searching for the account, one is directed to an Instagram document saying the page was not available and that it “may have been removed”.

Upon his arrest, the United Arab Emirates police ceased over $40 million in cash, 13 luxury cars as well as cars and phones containing evidence of fraudulent activities that he participated in.

Despite his highly publicized arrest in 2020, Instagram did not take any action against him up until now. Hushpuppi could face up to 20 years in prison.
