Rico Luiz became the youngest player to score on his first Champions League start as he sparked Manchester City’s comeback with a 3-1 win over Sevilla.

After Rafa Mir had given Sevilla an unexpected lead in the first half, the 17-year-old right-back calmly equalized. He became the youngest player in Champions League history to score on his first start in the competition, breaking the record set by Karim Benzema in 2005.

Kevin De Bruyne was brought off the bench to help City find a winner, and he did so in just three minutes by brilliantly assisting Julian Alvarez for his 12th goal of the year. As City won Group G, Alvarez picked up his second assist of the evening by setting up Riyad Mahrez to seal the victory.

The Victory sees City end the group five points clear of Borussia Dortmund with Sevilla dropping into the Europa League after finishing third.
