Instagram CEO, Adam Mosseri, has addressed Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner’s concerns about Instagram turning into TikTok.
The beauty moguls took to their Instagram stories to share a meme which aired their concerns about Instagram looking more and more like TikTok with the ‘reels’ feature. They also added that they would love to open the app and see more of their friends’ pictures as opposed to videos.
“Make Instagram Instagram again, stop trying to be like tiktok I just want to see cute photos of my friends, sincerely, Everyone.”
Mosseri later shared a video addressing the KarJenner concerns among other issues. He revealed that they are experimenting on a lot of different changes to the app in order to make the experience better for their users.
“We’re going to continue to support photos. It’s part of our heritage. You know I love photos. I know a lot of you out there love photos too,” Mosseri said.
“That said, I need to be honest, I do believe more and more of Instagram is going to become video over time.”
Mosseri also addressed full screen versions of the app revealing that it is a test that only applies to a few people and will later be available to everyone.
The CEO also addressed recommendations stating that their goal is to get their users to discover more things on Instagram. He also added that the feature assists their creators and helps the small creators grow.
