Manchester City legend Yaya Toure is set to embark on the next step of his new career. The former Manchester City midfielder is set to take on a full-time role in Tottenham’s academy.
The legendary Ivorian started his coaching career last year as an assistant with Olimpia Donetsk in Ukraine before heading to FC Akhmat in Russia three months later. After finishing his UEFA A Coaching License, which Spurs assisted him in obtaining, Toure is now slated to join the young program at Tottenham.
Toure undoubtedly possesses a wealth of knowledge that he can use to mentor the young athletes in the Tottenham academy. He worked under greats like Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini before, and was a part of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City team twice. After leaving City, he first relocated to Greece to join Olympiakos before taking his career to its conclusion in China in 2020.
The former midfielder had a remarkably prosperous run with the Cityzens. Touré participated in 316 games for the Sky Blues, contributing 49 assists and 79 goals in all competitions
