Nigerian singer Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe better known as Kizz Daniel, was arrested and detained in a Tanzanian prison, for failing to perform at a concert.
The ‘Buga’ hitmaker was expected to perform at the Ware House arena in Dar es Salaam, during his ‘Afro Classic World Tour’.
The singer was arrested at his hotel, Johari Rotana Hotel and was detained at the Oysterbay Police Station up until he was released on Monday night after paying for the damages he had caused.
The event organizers, Str8up Vibes, issued an apology on Monday to their fans on behalf of the singer and assured them that action will be taken against the singer.
“We acknowledge that this has resulted in disappointment for our loyal customers and long-time valuable stakeholders involved,” said Damian Mapalala, Str8up Vibes head of communication.
The concert tickets were going for $21 for regular tickets and $8,650 for VVIP tickets. According to the organizers, the singer was fully paid a whooping $60,000 for the performance.
The singer revealed that he failed to perform because his luggage which contained his clothes and jewelry had failed to arrive from Uganda.
