The annual Fundraising Gala was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and this year’s theme was ‘Guilded Glamour’.
Many of the A-list celebrities showed up and showed out wearing all kinds of glamorous, designer outfits. A seat at the Met this year reportedly cost a whooping $35,000 while a table was going for $200,000 to $300,000.
Luckily for the celebrities the designers tend to cover their expenses in a bid for them to show off their brand names on the famous Met red carpet.
Unfortunately for the navy, Rihanna, the queen of the Met was not present this year but she was honored with her very own marble statue.
“shut down the met in marble! what’s more gilded than that? Lol! Thank you @metmuseum and @voguemagazine for this historic tribute! y’all bad for this one!” she tweeted.
Kim Kardashian graced the red carpet in Marilyn Monroe’s original 1962 dress that she wore to president John F. Kennedy’s 45th birthday party. She was accompanied by her new love interest Pete Davidson.
Kylie Jenner wore an Off-White gown as a tribute to the late designer and Off-White founder Virgil Abloh. Kylie revealed that she was supposed to attend the lavish event with Virgil back in 2020 but unfortunately due to Corona virus the event was cancelled.
“Virgil and i were supposed to go to the Met together before it got postponed in 2020. to celebrate V tonight and his incredible legacy truly means the world to me. i’m humbled to wear this dress and honor my talented beautiful friend. we felt you tonight Virgil and love you forever ♾,” said Kylie.
