PHARRELL WILLIAMS APPOINTED LOUIS VUITTON MEN’S CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Congratulations are in order for singer, producer and designer, Pharrell Williams, as he has been appointed as Louis Vuitton’s Menswear Creative Director, effective immediately.

“I am glad to welcome Pharrell back home, after our collaborations in 2004 and 2008 for Louis Vuitton, as our new Men’s Creative Director,” Louis Vuitton Chairman and Chief Executive Pietro Beccari said in a statement.

“His creative vision beyond fashion will undoubtedly lead Louis Vuitton towards a new and very exciting chapter.”

The 49-year-old artiste is replacing Off White’s Virgil Abloh, who died at the age of 41 after a two-year battle with a rare form of cancer, known as cardiac angiosarcoma.

Williams’ is not only a multi-awarded artiste; he also has a profound career in the world of fashion as he co-founded streetwear label Billionaire Boys Club in 2003 with Japanese fashion designer Nigo. He has also collaborated with brands such as Adidas, Moncler and Tiffany & Co.

Williams’ first designs as Louis Vuitton’s Creative Director are set to drop in June, at the Paris Men’s fashion week.
