Manchester United reached the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup with a 3-0 win at home to League One side Charlton Athletic on Tuesday night.

For the cup game, Erik ten Hag made replacements, giving opportunities to Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Elanga. United came out unscathed, extending their winning streak to six games and keeping five clean sheets since the World Cup.

Antony’s first-half goal proved crucial at Old Trafford, with the summer signing curling in a beautiful effort from the edge of the box to beat Addicks keeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer, while Marcus Rashford added two more in stoppage time.

The Red Devils seem to finally have a spring in their step and appear to have put their early season wobbles behind them  after Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit.
